A beaten Nick returns home and discovers Dot is out looking for him after Jay’s revelation that Nick’s been blackmailing Billy. Nick questions Dotty’s loyalty but she proves it when Billy arrives and she uses his tragic childhood to emotionally blackmail him in to not telling Dot the truth. Billy lies to Dot that Nick wasn’t blackmailing him. Dot apologises to Nick for doubting him. Nick tells Dotty they’re in the clear but Dotty thinks it’s too risky - they have to kill Dot soon. When Phil returns to the Vic he’s disappointed to discover Billy has let Nick go. Billy insists he’s got courage and goes to find Jay. Billy tells Jay he didn’t help Jase on the night he died - he hid. Jay tells Billy he wishes he’d died. Dawn sees an upset Jay and is shocked to discover Billy’s lies. Jay eventually breaks down on Dawn. Phil finds Billy packing and they argue but end up telling each other some home truths. Later Phil makes an appointment to attend his support group. Billy replaces Tracey’s wages and tells Peggy he made a mistake about Shirley. Phil offers Shirley her job back with £50 compensation. She takes the money but refuses the job. Dawn berates Billy for doing nothing to help Jase. Phil tells Billy they can only take one day at a time. Mo tells a worried Jean that Stacey’s called to say she is staying at Lynne’s but later admits to Charlie that Stacey isn’t at Lynne’s – Stacey said she was fine but Mo worries she’s not coming back. Chelsea’s impressed when she sees Theo help Jordan with his homework. Later, wearing a sexy school uniform she presents Theo with University prospectuses – she thinks he would make a great teacher.
