When Dawn hears ‘I’m forever blowing bubbles’ playing in the flat, she presumes Garry’s back, but instead finds a weeping Minty sorting through Garry’s belongings. Dawn refuses to believe Garry’s dead. Charlie calls Lynne to tell her the news. Charlie and Minty realise they both knew that Garry tried to commit suicide when he split up with Lynne. To convince Dawn, Minty tells her about this previous suicide attempt and Darren tells her he deleted Garry’s answer phone message. Heather and Minty talk and start to rebuild their friendship. After speaking to Shirley, Dawn gets and angry Minty finds her throwing Garry’s things out onto the street. Minty tells Dawn she could have yes to Garry’s proposal and Dawn throws her engagement ring at him. Later the two apologise to each other and Minty gives Dawn back the ring on a chain. They decide to have a wake at the Community centre. In a French bar a bemused Garry watches a news report about his disappearance. The Beales and Masoods have functions to prepare for and need to use the unit at the same time. Ian drives everyone mad enforcing petty rules and eventually splits the unit in two - each family have their own space, neither can get to the things they need. Tamwar’s phone rings, but he tells the caller he can’t talk. Ian’s left to pack up the food for both functions and labels it badly, so the food all goes to the wrong venue. They decide to combine the two businesses to provide Authentic Indian and Traditional English food. They vote for who should be in charge, despite Ian’s attempts at bribery and persuasion Zainab wins. Ian wants to be more involved in his catering business so makes Lucas manager of the chip shop.
