Masood tentatively approaches Zainab to talk about Syed, but she diverts him. Having been asked to cater for the Bhangra event, Masood asks Jane for help, but Zainab refuses to work with her. Masood insists that they share a business with the Beales and their livelihoods depend on it. Having been reprimanded, Zainab heads to the community centre, but is wounded on seeing Masood and Jane laughing together and leaves. Later, Zainab reveals that she’s contacted a solicitor to have the business partnership dissolved. Exasperated, Masood threatens to leave if she goes ahead. Masood meets Jane and laments the situation with Zainab. Learning that she’s going to Florida, a desperate Masood implores Jane: “Let me come with you.†As Ian presses the idea of Florida, Jane grows suspicious of his motives. Lucy later manipulates Jane into believing that she can’t concentrate on her exams while Jane’s around because she feels guilty about the miscarriage. Jane’s mortified, and tells Ian that she’ll go to Florida. In an effort to regain independence, Syed approaches Janine about a job at the bookies. His efforts to impress fall flat when he flares up at punters. Determined, Syed approaches Mr Lister about a market business venture. They go to the Vic, where a hostile Roxy reveals to Lister that Syed was responsible for getting Christian beaten up. Mortified, Syed leaves. Having been visited by the loss adjuster, Ronnie’s thrilled to learn she can make a claim. Her joy is short-lived when Max reveals that they’ve sited faulty electric works as the cause. He says she can claim provided she sites the workman as responsible. Ronnie looks over to Billy: torn. In an effort to impress Jordan, Ben produces the whiskey. They’re caught drinking by a furious Lucas. Sensing Ben’s fear, Jordan takes the blame.
