As the truth about Tony and Whitney sends shockwaves through the square, Bianca keeps her family at home. Lauren can’t talk to Max about Tony’s behaviour towards her, but later tells Jane everything. Bianca and Ricky feel guilty, should they have realised what was going on? Whitney continues to defend Tony. The Police and Social Services arrive and tell the family that Tony will not confess. Bianca talks about when she first met Tony; he fixed the wheel on her pushchair and seemed kind. She realises that he probably targeted her because she had children. Liam is distressed, but the younger children don’t understand what’s happening. A police officer speaks to Whitney, but she stays silent. Lauren arrives and talks to the police. They ask her to go to a suite at the police station, her evidence will be important, otherwise it will be Tony’s word against Whitney’s. The police admit that without a statement from Whitney, Tony might be released on bail. Whitney says she will never talk about what has happened. At the cafe Lucas tells Denise that everyone hates him, a fear that is compounded when Ian refuses to serve him. Lucas’ day gets worse when he finds the Community Centre windows covered in graffiti. Phil, Ian, Max and a band of locals decide that the youth club should be shut down and confront Lucas at the Community Centre. Denise arrives and successfully calms the men down. Later, Lucas is attacked by an unseen assailant. Libby arrives back from her Oxford interview and is angry when she thinks Denise had forgotten about it. When Denise apologises, Libby confesses her embarrassment, when leaving the interview she went through the wrong door, and ended up in a broom cupboard.
