It’s the day of Tommy’s funeral. Jean is out of hospital and determined to be there for Kat. Alfie coaxes a comatose Kat out of bed and convinces her to come to the funeral; as Tommy’s mum, she needs to make sure everything’s right. Mo insists that Charlie come to the funeral. At the church, Kat can’t bring herself to come inside and sits cradling the tiny coffin, and has to be supported and walked in by Alfie. Jean does a reading from ‘A Child of Mine’. At the graveside, Alfie drops Clarence, Tommy’s toy lion, into the baby’s grave. Kat is beside herself with grief, drops to her knees and sobs. Ronnie watches the funeral, unseen, from behind a tree and is horrified at the grief she’s caused. Back at home, she picks up James and heads for the Vic. Jack runs after her but she tells him, keep away. At the wake at the Vic, everyone raises their glasses to toast Tommy when Ronnie rushes in holding James and tells Kat to take him, this is all wrong. She gives him to a stunned Kat, who stares lovingly at the baby in her arms, smiling. Jack’s increasingly worried at Ronnie’s obsession with Tommy’s death and how nervous she is with James. Tamwar despairs that he’ll always be single. Jodie and Darren set up Tamwar with Jodie’s friend Poppy, but Zainab interferes and calls him away. Carol ends things with Connor, Tiffany knows about them. Connor tries to convince her that Tiffany will forget about it, but Carol refuses to give in. Tiffany ignores Carol when she offers to take her to the park. Bianca tells Tiffany about Natasha, her baby girl who died. Morgan gets a peanut stuck in his ear.
