Preparations for Whitney’s sixteenth birthday party are underway; but she sits upstairs alone. She starts to pack, but hastily hides her case when Bianca comes to give her a birthday present, a doll, like one Whitney had as a child. Whitney feels guilty and talks to Tony, they plan to leave at midnight. He tells her how expensive Bianca’s present was and that they’ll never see her or the children again. The younger children give Whitney their present, and she cries, Tony is pleased she’s having doubts. Whitney’s party starts, all the family are there. Ricky tells Pat that he saw Tony gave Whitney a hard time and didn’t like it, Pat thinks he’s jealous. Soon, it all becomes too much for Whitney, who flees upstairs claiming to have a headache. She tells Tony they should leave straight away. Tony wants to keep their relationship secret, and not leave before Christmas. Tony meets Lauren in the hallway and touches her neck, she feels uncomfortable. Whitney thanks Bianca for the doll and Bianca realises she’s been crying. After much prompting Whitney reveals that the reason is Tony…. Jack wants to know if Roxy has the paternity test results. Roxy confides to Christian that she is finding it hard to get the three swabs she needs from Sean for the test, but is sure he is the father. When Sean falls asleep Roxy takes a swab from his cheek. Denise is excited about Libby’s Oxford interview the next day and asks if she has prepared for it properly. Denise is still frustrated that Lucas won’t sleep with her. Bradley asks Dot to take the money he won on the horses, it’s giving him nightmares. Dot befriends a tramp who comes into the laundrette and gives him some of Bradley’s money.
