EastEnders - 06/01/2009

Nick returns home drunk and berates Dotty when she sees him. Unaware, Dot decides to invite Pat and Peggy to afternoon tea to show them how Nick has changed. Dot proudly tells the group Nick no longer drinks alcohol and Pat and Peggy start to believe that Nick has changed. Later Dot is devastated when she sees Nick drink from a bottle of alcohol – she confronts him and Nick eventually shows his true colours. Nick gives Dot 48 hours to either pay up or never see Dotty again. Max wakes up in the police station and is told by DS Grimwood that Lauren has been charged with attempted murder. Lauren is released on bail in to Jack’s care. Later Max comforts Lauren and she apologises to him. At home Max breaks down but eventually pulls himself together. Max visits Tanya in prison – she’s devastated when she discovers Lauren has told the police the truth. Janine’s plans to leave Walford change when she discovers 43B is vacant. She persuades Billy and Jay to move in with her but when they arrive she asks if either know how to pick a lock… Peggy apologises to Janine for thinking the worst of her. Later Janine returns home with champagne and take-away and we discover she’s used Peggy’s credit card to pay for it all. Zainab realises Denise is missing Lucas and Denise admits she’s lonely. Zainab asks Patrick for Lucas’ number and ignoring his warning calls Lucas. Jean finally accepts Sean has gone for good but still can’t help feeling sad. Callum tries to win Stacey round with flowers but when he makes an excuse not to go on a walk with her and Jean Stacey throws the flowers back in his face.
