Digesting the news that he’s the father of Kat’s baby, Michael probes Alfie about bringing up another man’s child. Kat implores Michael to leave, but he’s reluctant; insisting that they could become a family. She’s unwavering; she loves Alfie. To Kat’s relief, Michael later reveals to a crestfallen Alfie that he’s decided to return to Spain. Having forgotten his passport, Michael returns to find a hysterical Kat suspended above the Square in the caravan. With Kat back on terra firma, Michael insists on taking her to be checked over. At the hospital, with Kat insistent that he leave, Michael relents, revealing that he’s left a letter with money for Kat in the caravan. Meanwhile, Alfie finds Michael’s letter. Disgusted by the caravan on her doorstep; Zainab attempts to have it removed. Having hit a brick wall with the council, Zainab commandeers the workmen and gets them to lift the caravan with their crane. Unbeknown to them, Kat is inside. Having spent the night with Jean, Billy appears shamefaced while Jean is quietly impressed with herself. Taken with the notion of having a love interest and feeling like one of the girls, Jean informs Carol and Glenda that she has a ‘young man’. Billy, meanwhile, is quizzed by Jay as to his whereabouts last night. Billy lies that he pulled a really hot woman but is later caught out. Billy’s left feeling guilty when Jean overhears him rubbishing her. Lewis collects Carol for their date. Although initially frosty, Carol soon succumbs to his charms. She’s mortified to learn that Glenda saw Lewis removing a wedding ring before meeting her. Carol furiously confronts Lewis and leaves humiliated. On Mercy’s suggestion, Grace assists Dot at the launderette. Dot’s dismayed when Grace expresses interest in a job there.
