Pat’s horrified to find Peggy sporting a bruise on her face from Phil. Phil, meanwhile, confines Louise to the house. Sure that Phil must be drinking again, Peggy sneaks into the house to rescue Louise. Discovering Louise is gone, a furious Phil heads out in pursuit. Sure that Shirley conspired with Peggy; Phil kicks her out of the house. Meanwhile, Peggy comes to the realisation that Louise should see Lisa. Lisa’s overjoyed to be reunited with Louise, but is met with a slap from a furious Peggy who berates her for leaving Louise. Lisa explains her actions, revealing she had a break down. Lisa implores Peggy to let Louise stay with her and promises that Phil can visit whenever he likes. Unable to guarantee Phil won’t ever hurt Louise, Peggy concedes that she’s better off with Lisa. A tearful Peggy leaves Louise. Denise put on a brave face on the Square. Realising that Libby is postponing her return to university out of obligation to her, Denise advises her to go back. Determined, she packs Chelsea and Libby off to Spain together. They bid a tearful farewell to Denise and Patrick before leaving Walford with Liz. A scheming Max again calls Tanya. At the Vic, Max plies Rainie with booze whilst they wait for Tanya to arrive. Having cottoned on to Max’s ploy, Rainie reveals he needn’t have bothered; she’s already spoken to Tanya who wants nothing to do with her. Rainie threatens to tell Abi about Max’s ploy to falsely brand her a junkie unless he lets her stay. With Max having reluctantly agreed to her staying, Rainie steals money from Carol’s purse. Bianca encourages Carol to call Lewis, but Carol’s dismissive. Having second thoughts, Carol later goes to retrieve Lewis’ number but Bianca reveals she threw it away.
