Stacey is hostile towards Jean. Jean tries to explain her reasoning for not coming home, but Stacey is resolute and says she’s better off alone. Charlie encourages Jean to persevere with Stacey. As Stacey gets drunk with Callum, Jean arrives. Her stern words manage to hit home and Stacey leaves with her. Jean assures Stacey of her love for her and they embrace. Having had his plans of romancing Stacey scuppered by Jean’s return, Callum is furious. Bumping into Jean later, he tells her she’s just like his mum: selfish and always relying on the children to pick up the pieces. He warns her to get out of Stacey’s life before ruining it forever. Archie tries to take Peggy’s mind off the election by organising a fitting for her wedding dress. Fearing the dress is too racy, Archie walks in as she tries it on to hopefully prevent her from wearing it at the wedding. Intrigued by what Archie had meant about working together, Janine arrives to talk to him. Proving to be a persistent and dangerous presence, Archie throws her out. Scorned, she tells Peggy not to trust Archie. He visits Janine later and says he’s had second thoughts of ‘doing business’ with her. As Garry is doted on by Dawn, Minty watches on: dejected. He later reveals that he’s yearning to have someone too. Thinking of a hobby to do with Brenda, Charlie decides on pottery classes. Jack offers Roxy more money but she bristles: he can’t buy his way into Amy’s life. Having had second thoughts about accepting his money for the buggy, Roxy goes to see Jack. He presents her with a credit card. Bewildered by unexplained events in the flat, Billy looks to the picture of Frank and fears there’s a poltergeist.
