While Jane is concerned over Ian’s appearance in court, the Beale twins are more preoccupied with their own love lives. As Peter longs for Zsa Zsa, Lucy is lusting after Leon. Jane is relieved to find out that Ian has returned with a suspended sentence and community service, so the celebrations for his birthday can go ahead. Lucy is furious to have noticed two tickets to Spain in Jane’s bag and a tone of sadness pervades as Jane and Ian speculate over the impact his conviction will on their plans to adopt. Bianca discovers Whitney and Billie having a lie-in and, after a brief explosion, settles down to the idea that this could actually be a good thing. Carol is not quite so convinced, however, as Billie has skipped college to take time off with Whitney. Discovering that he has lied to her about his college commitments, Whitney argues with Billie and, despite warnings from Zsa Zsa to remain aloof, Whitney heads over to Billie’s old estate in an attempt to find the boy and patch things up. As she asks some old acquaintances of Billie’s if they know where he is, Whitney is attacked by the pair. Connor and Kylie video the altercation and instruct a terrfied and shocked Whitney that Billie must give them back the gun he has in his possession. Still feeling that Masood is being secretive, Zainab is waiting for her husband to come clean about the post she found under their sofa. He admits that he did gamble, once, but continues to deny any involvement in the postal theft. Although Tamwar says she should trust his father, her temper erupts when Masood returns from work cleared of all charges. Zainab confronts her husband about the found mail and is irritated when he continues to claim ignorance. Hoping that Billy will testify to the fact that he won some money on roulette at the stag do, Masood is disappointed when his friend reports that he only knows what he was told and he did not see anything for himself. As the tension continues, Masood decides to sleep on the sofa, again. As Billy clears away Bradley’s wilting flowers from the Vic, Max is still struggling to cope with the weight of his son’s death. Carol re-thinks her original plans to take Billie back to Balham, when she realises that her brother needs them there, and decides to stay for his sake. Shirley, has managed to get Zsa Zsa an interview with the headmaster of Walford High, Mr Alcock, only to be annoyed at her niece’s reluctance to go back to school. After Zsa Zsa goes to see Leon at football practice and notices the toned and handsome Alcock running around, she reconsiders. Trying to get in touch with her son Owen, much to the frustration of Lucas, Liz and Patrick have a nostalgic conversation about their sons. Mindful of his own son Paul, Patrick agrees to call the phone company pretending to be Owen. Thanks to Patrick’s small deceit, Liz discovers that her son has not used his mobile phone since November. This distressies her hugely. After Zsa Zsa has riled Lucy up and Peter has bumped heads with Leon, the Beale’s family dinner is ruined as emotional latecomer Lucy rips up the plane tickets and storms out of the house. A livid Jane follows, trying and calm the girl. Jane’s sympathy proves too much for Lucy, who finally reveals to her stepmother that she is pregnant.
