Jill Douglas introduces coverage of the UCI World Road Championships, which are taking place in Mendrisio in Switzerland. The success of Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish in this year's Tour de France has contributed to Britain being allowed a maximum allocation of nine riders in the men's race, their highest representation for two decades.
