Cumbria: After the Floods

Last November Cockermouth became the centre of attention when it was hit by the worst floods in Cumbria's history. Hundreds lost their homes. But what happened when the cameras left? This is the story of a year of recovery, resilience and setbacks as we follow a group of people putting their lives together again. We'll follow the farmer struggling with tens of thousands of tonnes of stone washed on to his land, the homeowner battling for proper flood defences, the single mum trying to bring up her son in a caravan next to her wrecked home-and the policeman's widow as she endures her first year without her husband who lost his life when a bridge collapsed. Throughout this is a film that captures the spirit of a town and its people, determined to emerge stronger and wiser after the flood.
