Crossing Continents

Rosie Goldsmith reports from Milan and Prato, the centre of Italy's textile industry which is now perceived to be under siege. In addition to imported goods from the East, the area has seen a large influx of Chinese workers whose labour practices are seen as a threat to their Italian counterparts. The conflict between two cultures has already spilled over into violence between Chinese clothing merchants and police in Milan.
