Three Welsh families give up their 21st century creature comforts and time travel back to 1944 to face the hardships of life in World War II. Life in the mining community is getting tough. How are the families coping without their supermarkets, shagpile carpets and central heating? This programme features the highs and lows of the first week for the Griffithses, the Paiseys and the Tranter Davieses. Also, some new residents arrive at the square.
