Clare Teal presents the best in swinging big band sounds which this week includes a 90th birthday tribute to George Shearing. Born on the 13th of August 1919 in Battersea, London, tonight's show includes recordings from George's early career in the UK with groups including Harry Parry's Radio Sextet. He is also heard with Nat 'King' Cole, Robert Farnon & his Orchestra and with the BBC Big Band. Clare also features tracks from Billy May, Woody Herman and the Brian Setzer Orchestra.
