Including vintage music from Jimmie Lunceford courtesy of arranger Sy Oliver and the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra from 1934. Swing classics from Artie Shaw (Just Floating Along), Sam Donahue (September in the Rain) and the rare sound of Alistair Cooke introducing the Duke Ellington Orchestra in a 1945 broadcast. Also featured is the work of arranger Billy May for Frank Sinatra and Bob Brookmeyer's setting of Happiness is a thing called Joe for vibraphonist Terry Gibbs.
