Society has improved little, so there are still plenty of challenges out there for an involved, caring social worker. Or even Clare. A control freak, Clare Barker likes nothing better than interfering in other people's lives on both a professional and personal basis. Clare is in her thirties, white, middle class and heterosexual, all of which are occasional causes of discomfort to her. Each week we join Clare in her continued struggle to control both her professional and private life. The last series saw the personal and professional lives of Clare's team shaken around and shuffled about, but it is in the nature of hell to be unchanging, and most are present and correct for a further round of frustration, despair, disappointment, team meetings and eleven o'clock cakes at the Sparrowhawk Family Centre. Clare is now Acting Team Leader at the Family Centre as Irene has job swapped. And whilst Irene is in Melbourne the team here are joined by Libby who is after Clare's job.
