This week marks 40 years since the death of rock genius Jimi Hendrix, and on this day in 1997 over 2000 fans watched Pete Townsend unveil an English Heritage Blue plaque at 23 Brook Street, Mayfair, London, to mark where Jimi had lived in 1968 - 1969.
