Chris Hawkins presents documentaries and live music, lovingly hand-picked, from the BBC archives. The Jags headline the live hour at 4am. They're fondly remembered as a one-hit wonder of the late-70s U.K. power pop explosion. Glasgow's finest export, Primal Scream, are also in session. The band were a key part of the mid-1980s indie pop scene, but eventually moved away from their more jangly sound, taking on more psychedelic and then garage rock influences, before incorporating a dance music element to their sound. This session was recorded in the 6 Music Hub in 2006. There's also the 5.15 - your chance to choose the first request of the day, the Funky Weather forecast, live from a broom cupboard at the BBC weather centre, and another daft game of Play Your Birthday Cards Right. Plus, The Hawk's new best friend forever, Cold Feet actress Fay Ripley, provides the laughs, and shares another tasty recipe - this morning it's Lamb burgers. Bring on the weekend!
