Chris Hawkins presents documentaries, and live music, lovingly hand-picked from the BBC archives. Tonight's hour of live music is kicked off by South African Mbaqanga Supergroup 'Mahlathini and the Mahotella Queens' performing at the Glastonbury Festival in 1989. Mbaqanga, a style of South African music with rural Zulu roots, originated in the early 1960's, having gained world-wide exposure in the 1980's thanks to the popularity of Paul Simon's Graceland album, and continues to influence musicians today.
