Chris Hawkins presents documentaries, concerts and sessions from the BBC archives. Tonight the Live Hour acts have been chosen by 6 Music listener Michael Canning from Leeds. Headlining are Motorhead at Donington Park in 1986, with Lemmy on screaming duties. We've also a couple of atmospheric Kiwi bands in session. First, we travel back to 1992 to hear Bailter Space, who formed in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1987. After releasing seven studio albums, numerous EPs and singles, and a career retrospective compilation, they went on an extended hiatus in 2004. They returned in August 2008 to play the Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan. Plus a 1989 session from Straitjacket Fits, who were a prominent band in the Flying Nun label's second wave of the Dunedin Sound. Both sessions were recorded for the late, great John Peel.
