From the Chapel of New College, Oxford. Commissioned in the summer of 1791 (in mythology by a stranger at Mozart's door) the Requiem remained unfinished at the composer's death later the same year and was completed by his pupil Franz Süssmayer. On this occasion, the Requiem Mass in D minor K.626 is sung liturgically to a congregation gathered in the impressive surroundings of New College Chapel. The soloists Jonty Ward (treble), Hugh Cutting (alto), Guy Cutting (tenor), and Jonathan Howard (bass) are drawn from the Choir of New College and they are accompanied by the European Union Baroque Orchestra directed by Edward Higginbottom.
