Casualty - Series 24 - Life Sentence

Adam is first on the scene when a party boat sinks on a river and, with memories of Jessica and Harry still fresh, dives in the water looking for the casualties, with no concern for his own safety. When Alice tries to get Adam to open up, he rejects her offer of help, and emotionally shuts down. However, after dealing with a patient who is forced to give up his life, as he knows it, for the right reasons, Adam seeks out Alice and tells her he's going to see Harry. But alone, he drives into a wall and tries to kill himself. In a cruel twist of fate, Adam emerges from the wreckage unscathed. He laughs a hollow laugh - a man so unlucky, he can't even kill himself. It's Kieron's first day and he's keen to impress Jordan. When Kieron takes a risk, Jordan warns him to stick to the rules, but praises his nerve nonetheless. Alone, Kieron makes a mysterious call about Jordan and later tries to talk to his boss about the unknown subject. However, Jordan impatiently dismisses him. Scared of failure, Ruth is hesitant when she is put forward to assist on a new surgical trial, but when she impresses her mentor, Howard Fairfax, and realises her personal life is in tatters, she decides to pursue her dream once more. When Jeff is involved in an accident, he's touched by Dixie's concern and agrees to marry her for the sake of her dad. And Zoe and Matt get closer.
