This week Bruce is joined by keyboard wizard Don Airey of Deep Purple. Deep Purple are a national rock treasure. Having formed back in 1968 they've survived endless changes to their line-up, infamous in-fighting and have launched the careers of Richie Blackmore, David Coverdale and Ian Gillan. Imagine going to see your favourite band perform as a youngster and then finally one day finding yourself on stage with them. That's exactly what happened to Airey and his life's ambition was realised a few years back when he was asked to join Purple, replacing the legendary Jon Lord. His cv would have looked impressive before this having already worked with the likes of Ozzy Osborne, Rainbow and Judas Priest (plus a little known singer called Bruce Dickinson). He chats to Bruce about their forthcoming tour and how Deep Purple changed his life forever.
