There are nearly a million properties lying empty in the UK just waiting for someone to come along to make them homes again. Jules Hudson reveals the great potential vacant places for sale can offer buyers in terms of budget and lifestyle, while the work of the nation's Empty Property Officers explores what's being done to get the thousands of houses that lie abandoned and neglected across the country back into use. And we hear from the people who've rescued wrecks and transformed them into beautiful homes again. First time buyers, Edd Richardson and Amy Daintith have been together for nearly a year and for the past seven months have been house-sitting for Edd's mum in Portishead in the West Country. But now they want a home of their own somewhere near Bristol. They're not afraid of taking on a project, and have 230 thousand pounds to spend. Presenter Jules Hudson wants to show them just how a vacant property could be the blueprint for the home of their dreams.
