Huw Edwards looks the Welsh chapelgoing culture in the first half of the 19th century, when a chapel was built in Wales every eight days. Many will see that period as Bibleblack and depressingly joyless. But it was also a time of nonconformist radicalism against the established Church and of vibrant cultural activity in the chapels.
