She's sold 18 million albums worldwide, had has 22 top ten singles in the US country charts and has been four times winner of the CMA Female vocalist of the year award. In session with Bob tonight is Martina McBride. Martina started her Nashville career in 1990 working as a waitress, singing demos for record labels and touring with Garth Brooks as a merchandise seller. Two years later she was back on the road with Garth, but this time as his opening act, having just landed herself a record deal with RCA. Her commercial breakthrough came a year later with the album The Way That I Am which included the Gretchen Peters penned song Independence Day, which has since become Martina's signature song. Her subsequent hits have included Wild Angels, A Broken Wing, Love's The Only House and This One's For The Girls. Her new album Shine recently debuted at number one on the country charts, and the single Ride was released in the UK last month. Martina joins Bob in the studio for a special acoustic session.
