Tonight's session guest is the Canadian country blues artist Romi Mayes. Known for writing gritty and intensely personal songs of sex, drugs, love and life on the road she says of her new album, "If you don't like drinking or swearing or country or blues or dealing with yer broken heart, you won't like it." Achin' In Yer Bones, her second solo album, is produced by Gurf Morlix, who was behind Lucinda Williams' hugely acclaimed album Car Wheels On A Gravel Road. The title track was inspired by her teenage experience of a 40 hour bus trip from Vancouver to Winnipeg, and echoes a recurring theme in the music of a woman who is famed for a packed touring schedule around her native country.
