Bill Oddie, cameraman John Aitchison and sound recorder Chris Watson reveal the hidden lives of Britain's animals. We find Bill and John in Scotland where Bill challenges John to film four seasons in a day. The Scottish weather doesn't disappoint and whether he likes it or not John has it all thrown at him. And while we wait to see how John gets on we find Bill in Walthamstow where some expert fishers are causing quite a stir. Cormorants are flying inland to dine out on our stocked lakes and Bill questions whether they are actually a menace or whether there's a touch of green-eyed envy from the local anglers. Next we join Chris back up in Scotland on the open ocean as he helps Bill listen in to local dolphins with some of his handy gadgets. Chris picks out the whistles, clicks and squeaks that make up each dolphins' unique repertoire and explains their potential telepathic powers. But even after this fantastic encounter Chris confesses that it still doesn't quite beat the sound of mating haddock and if you're wondering what that might sound like Chris is very happy to demonstrate. And finally we have a lazy summer's day in Bill's back garden and it's not just Bill who's able to soak up the rays as he's crafted a bird sun deck.
