In the Beechgrove Garden this week it's a tale of beans and bulbs. Carole takes a look at her runner bean trial, comparing yield and of the course taste of the beautiful beans. The added bean benefit is that they look lovely too with their delicate flowers. Garden centres are filled to bursting with bulbs at the moment. Carole and Lesley come up with some recipes for layering bulbs in containers that will provide a spring show in your garden for weeks as one set of bulbs takes over from the next. Lesley fills up her autumn containers with bulbs in her Year in Containers experiment. Carole, also feeling autumnal, visits Dr Ramsay's garden in Falkirk. Dr Ramsay has a huge collection of maples or acers that turn the most wonderful colours at this time of year. Carole also revisits George Anderson's garden and allotment to see how their attempts to keep the club root at bay have fared, with mixed results.
