Live from the Cadogan Hall, London Presented by Catherine Bott Schumann's bicentenary is celebrated in this first Chamber Prom of the season with the composer at his most intimate and poignant in the sixteen Heine settings of Dichterliebe - 'A Poet's Love' - which trace a poet's increasing dejection as he reflects upon his imagined love. They are performed by one of Britain's foremost tenors, Mark Padmore, partnered by the pianist Imogen Cooper and their programme also includes a sequence of songs by Schubert and one of his lively piano miniatures.
