Petroc Trelawny presents a concert given by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under its principal conductor Bernard Haitink as part of the BBC Proms 2008 season. Famous for his interpretations of Mahler, Haitink conducts the composer's massive Sixth Symphony, preceded by a recent piece by Mark-Anthony Turnage. Turnage takes as his inspiration not only the city's unique orchestra, but also the work of Chicago poet Carl Sandburg.
