We celebrate violinist Nigel Kennedy's return to the BBC Proms after an absence of 21 years. As well as the work that first put him on the musical map - Elgar's Violin Concerto, described by Nigel as a 'monster' - he also performs his own compositions, with some of Poland's finest jazz musicians in the Nigel Kennedy Quintet. Paul Daniel conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra and the programme is presented by Charles Hazlewood and Suzy Klein.
