Day two of the World Championships gets under way with British heptathlete Jessica Ennis taking part in the long jump. Elsewhere, the heats of the women's 100m begin with Jamaican duo Kerron Stewart and Shelly-Ann Fraser in ominous form. Both will be keen to follow in the footsteps of compatriot Veronica Campbell-Brown who won the event in Osaka in 2007. Veteran Briton Joice Maduaka will also be taking part after her surprise victory in the UK trials - the 36-year-old made her World Championships debut in Seville in 1999.
