Presented by Penny Gore. Thursday Opera Matinee - Verdi's Ernani. Elvira loves Ernani, a young hot headed brigand, but she is engaged to the elderly Don Ruy Gomez de Silva. More than that, she has also attracted the amourous attentions of Don Carlo, the King, and future Holy Roman Emperor. Thus the scene is set for violence, revenge, conspiracy, mercy and the fickle hand of fate as the three men compete for Elvira.
