Chabrier's comic opera L'Étoile is a gem - a very silly story set to some glorious music. The performance was recorded last year at the Grand Theatre in Geneva and is full of gallic wit and charm. Our 'orchestra of the week', the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, then returns with colourful orchestrations of some of Debussy's piano preludes - and a performance of that most notorious of Ravel's scores, Boléro.
