In Afternoon on 3's regular Thursday opera slot, Donald Runnicles conducts Britten's Peter Grimes at the Grand Theatre in Geneva. The lonesome fisherman Peter Grimes stands accused of murdering his boy apprentice. Although he is aquitted, the townsfolk have made their own verdict, and only the school teacher Ellen Orford has any sympathy for him.
