Presented by Louise Fryer. BBC Proms 2009 Another chance to hear a Prom featuring Berlioz's Benvenuto Cellini overture and la mort de Cleopatre, followed by Mendelssohn's triumphant Hymn of Praise. Wildly popular with Victorian audiences, it's not often heard today, and the Halle under music director Mark Elder, revive the work as part of 2009's Mendelssohn celebrations.
