Presented by Penny Gore. 1.00pm Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert Oxford Chamber Music Festival 2007 2/4. The theme of the festival was the number seven - its mystical qualities and musical associations. Here there are three septets on offer: Ravel's masterful Introduction and Allegro, a version of Strauss' Metamorphosen and the sadly neglected Grand Septet by Franz Berwald. By way of contrast, the festival's composer-in-residence, Michael Berkeley, is featured by a piece for flute and harp.
