Clare English hears from people whose lives are on hold because of events in their lives which are beyond their control. In 2006 Aimee Mungu had to leave her home in the Democratic Republic of Congo and seek refuge in Britain. Her life was in danger and she had no choice but to leave her children behind. Finally safe in Glasgow, she had to endure a long wait, hoping desperately to be reunited with her three children. Then news came that they had been victims of a poisoning attempt and had been taken to hospital along with her sister, brother and nephew.
