6 Music Classic Concert - The Undertones

The Undertones, recorded in 1981 at The Pavilion in Hemel Hempstead, feature on this 6 Music Classic Concert. The show is presented by Chris Hawkins, and includes a brilliant version of Teenage Kicks. Formed in 1975, the Undertones became one of Northern Ireland's most successful bands. They released their hit single Teenage Kicks in 1978, and suddenly the five lads from Northern Ireland were at the forefront of British rock. By the end of 1979 the group were not only established recording artists, but had also proved themselves throughout Europe as entertaining live bands. This is truly a classic live performance with audience, band and frontman all competing for attention!
