6 Music Classic Concert - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, recorded at Glasgow's Indian Summer Festival in 2007, feature on this week's Classic Concert on 6 Music. The band formed in 2004 after meeting at college in Connecticut, and released their eponymous debut album the following year. Their initial work was lauded on influential music website Pitchfork, and both David Byrne and David Bowie were spotted at their early gigs; no surprise, since both the band's music, and vocalist Alec Ounsworth's nasal yodelling, give a respectful nod to Talking Heads and its frontman. They played this festival set while promoting their second album "Some Loud Thunder" which had come out earlier that year. The programme is presented by Chris Hawkins.
