Elton John recorded live at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1974 features on the 6 Music Classic Concert presented by Chris Hawkins, and includes many of his best known songs. As always when Elton John appears on stage, it's a very special occasion and a show which few artists in the world can equal. This concert is no exception, except that this was, in fact the last recorded concert featuring Nigel Olssen (drums) and Dee Murray (bass), who supported Elton throughout his early career. The show being presented in two halves, beginning, unusually with a couple of songs performed, by Elton John solo at the piano, later being joined by the rest of the group for classic renditions of tracks like Bennie And The Jets, Honky Cat, and Your Song.
