Electronic music enthusiast and record label MD Mark Jones, presents the latest in his series of 'Back To The Phuture' 6 Mixes, exploring synthesised music past and present. In this edition, Mark previews a selection of the synth based acts playing this year's Bestival festival on the the Isle of Wight, where Back To The Phuture has its own stage for the first time. Mark plays a selection of music from the festival, which takes place on Septrember 10 - 14, including tunes from La Roux, Aeroplane, Marc Almond and Steve Mason. Mark is also joined by 80s synthpop star Howard Jones, who makes his Bestival debut this year. Best known for his hits 'New Song', and 'Like To Get To Know You Well', Howard has recently remastered his early albums which will be re-issued this autumn. He talks to Mark about these records, his forthcoming tour, and picks a selection of acts who influenced his synth pop sound including tunes from Thomas Dolby, Tears for Fears and Scritti Politti. In the final half hour, Mancunian electro duo Hurts - who release their debut album 'Happiness' on Monday - go in the mix with a selection of music which inspired their synth based sound.
