DJ and producer Ashley Beedle takes over the 6 Mix. A stalwart of the London club scene since the late 1980s, where he made his name as an acid house DJ, Ashley went on to form Xpress 2 with musical partners Rocky And Diesel, having club hits with 'Musik Xpress', 'Raise Your Hands' and a number one single featuring David Byrne; 'Lazy'. Since then Ashley has collaborated with dub legend Horace Andy, remix Bob Marley and this month releases his latest album, MAVIS, featuring guest vocals from Ed Harcourt, Sarah Cracknell from Saint Etienne and 6 Music's own Cerys Matthews. In his 6 Mix, Ashley plays tunes which have influenced his sound from reggae to acid house and shares his clubbing memories, as well as talking about how those records have influenced his Mavis project.
