Documentary. In 1908, the French banker Albert Kahn gave a team of photographers the world's first portable colour cameras in order to create an 'archive of the planet'. 72,000 photographs were taken in more than 50 countries. This series shares these pictures, which give new insights into the early years of the 20th Century. In this episode, Kahn’s photographers recorded the upheaval that followed war in the Rhineland and Turkey.
