Johnny Walker looks at the early days of Atlantic Records and how the company was set up. Atlantic Records was home to some of the greatest soul singers of all time including Otis Redding and Ray Charles and also home to Led Zepplin. Its songwriting team of Leiber and Stoller and producer Jerry Wexler got their breaks at Atlantic, under the watchful guidance of Ahmet Ertegun. We hear from Ertegun, about his love of black music, moving to America with his father and how he started what was to become and global business.
