It's Stir Up Sunday, and Jill arrives at Brookfield to cook with Pip - who is the middle of a lively conversation about coursework with her parents. Jill and the children get stuck into the Christmas baking. Pip points out to a wistful Jill that it's weird to be cooking a pudding when Jill won't be there to eat it - they'll be off on their world tour. Kathy is in a state at Lower Loxley. The boiler has broken down, and she's convinced it was her fault - she's been adjusting the radiators in the shop. Nigel points out that the boiler is ancient, and it really isn't her fault. Pat arrives with an ice cream delivery, and soon picks up that Kathy isn't herself. They go back to Bridge Farm for a coffee, and Kathy tries to explain how guilty she is feeling that she didn't report the rape - and now another woman has been attacked. Pat tells her she really mustn't feel guilty for someone else's crime. She should be grateful to the other woman, who has had the strength to report the crime - so that Kathy found the strength too. Kathy doesn't feel strong at all. Episode written by Simon Frith.
