David's miffed when, having helped with the milking, Pip asks for a lift over to Jonathan's to help out there. There's lots of work to be done at Brookfield. Jill takes Ruth and the children to Borchester for a day out. They discuss Phil's forthcoming 80th birthday. Jill thinks Ruth's idea of a visit to the National Space Centre is a good one. Cheerful Bert is grateful to David. He asked Freda straight out if Neville Booth had turned her head and she fell about laughing. She'd been smartening herself up because she'd realised she'd become a bit dowdy, but confirmed it was to impress a man - Bert! The only drawback was she'd now put Bert on a diet. Oliver tells Helen that because of the TB in the herd the worst case scenario is that Sterling Gold cheese might have to be scrapped. All he can do is hope for the best when the enforcement officer visits next Tuesday. Helen puts her name to Pat's letter objecting to the planning application for the anaerobic digester. When Helen asks whether Pat thinks it's going to do any good, Pat comments that she can't stand by and do nothing. Episode written by Keri Davies.
